Knowing Wonky Doll And The Echo

Wonky Doll And The Echo is a Greek indie band formed in mid-2010 playing a mixture of neo-post-punk & shoegaze incorporating sounds which are sometimes minimalistic and sometimes enriched by ethereal guitars, fuzzy bass and atmospheric synths.

WDATE released their first LP “Pleasant Thoughts” in September 2012. The record was released in vinyl and digital format by the Greek indie label Geheimnis Records.

Furthermore, in February 2013 the band made a successful crowed-funding campaign on Indiegogo for a double project: a music video and a short movie based on the song “The Cut”.

The Cut – Wonky Doll And The Echo

Wonky Doll And The Echo have been highly active since their formation, making live performances in various Athenian stages, such as Kyttaro Live Club, Six D.O.G.S, BIOS and many others. They have also appeared as opening act for bands like I Like Trains and Clan of Xymox.

In 2013, the band’s lineup changed with the departure of their previous drummer and the arrival of a new one. The band is George Lemons (lead vocals, guitars), YIOS (bass, backing vocals), Kostas Antonakoglou (synth, piano, guitars) and John Boulis (drums).
